Are You Shopping For Christmas Gifts For The Gals On Your List?

Have you decided that this is the Christmas you'll give books to the girls and women on your Christmas list? Maybe during 2019 you have read many historical nonfiction books about women that have inspired and amazed you. Because of that, perhaps you have considered that you'd love to share many of those books with others you care for.

Have you started shopping already? If so, it sounds like you already have a plan, so maybe you don't need to keep reading. However, you also might be looking for ideas. If that's the case, from making a list of those who will be recipients of the historical nonfiction books, to buying additional gifts, here are some ideas that might help you.

Make A List - Think of first making a list of those who will be receiving the books and then matching the names to the books you'll select for them.

For example, if one of the gals on your list loves American history, a nonfiction book about Abigail Adams would probably be very well received by that individual. Maybe there are girls on your list who have slaves in their family history. If so, a book about women who were part of the Underground Railway would surely inspire those girls, wouldn't they? For women who are interested in politics, any nonfiction book about past First Ladies would probably be perfect gifts to open on Christmas morning.

Additional Gifts - While historic nonfiction gifts are a lovely gift in themselves, you might want to buy an additional gift for those important women in your life. For example, a bean bag chair for your teenaged sister would be a great gift, as she could relax in it while reading the book you gave her. Your mother might be delighted to open a beautiful tea set that includes a pretty cup and saucer and assorted teas that she can enjoy while reading her new book.

For even larger gifts, consider a beautiful reading lamp. Or, choose cute throw pillows or T-shirts that have messages like A Room Without Books Might as Well Be an Empty Room or one that has a caterpillar as part of the design along with words like, I'll Admit I'm a Bookworm.

When you give your historical nonfiction book gifts, think of including a note that tells why you selected that particular book for the recipient. That will personalize your gift, won't it?
